Dust and Fast Horses - A Day at the Regulators Jackpot
It's been a minute since I've taken pictures at a western even so to say that I was itching to get into the arena is an understatement! Everyone was so kind and welcoming at the Regulators jackpot and I am so grateful for the opportunity to get my foot in the door at one of the few horse shows that go on in Cache Valley.
I tried out a new lens filter because just because I was a little nervous about shooting in an outdoor arena in the middle of a summer day and that ended up biting me in the butt. Still not exactly sure why this happened, but when we were on our 3rd out of 5 events I noticed that some of my pictures were blurry. I was instantly sick to my stomach! For my fellow photographers reading this, my shutter was at 1/1000 so motion blur should definitely not be happening. I played around with my settings and ended up taking off the filter and walla, my pictures were back to their usual great quality. Luckily the motion blur only happened when I was all the way zoomed in so I was able to save a majority of the pictures but I'm still super bummed about all the ones I missed out on!
It was a learning experience for sure but I received so much positive feedback and I'm happy with the connections that were made from this show. I can't wait to do more!
